Why CAIIB catches people who cleared JAIIB comfortably

FormatThe main shift
Case studies, not standalone questions
A single scenario carries several linked questions. Misread the scenario and you lose the whole block, not one mark. Reading speed and accuracy matter as much as knowledge.
Structural
BFMPaper 2
Forex arithmetic under time pressure
Cross rates, forward premiums and swap calculations are mechanical once learned, but they consume time. Candidates who have not drilled them run short on the rest of the paper.
Time sink
ABMPaper 1
The statistics module
Sampling, estimation, regression and time series come as a shock to candidates whose last statistics exposure was at graduation. It is learnable, but it needs early and deliberate attention.
Cold start
BRBLPaper 4
Statutory detail
Section numbers, limitation periods and procedural sequences under SARFAESI and IBC are examined precisely. Approximate knowledge scores zero.
Precision required

While the mocks are being written

The promotion and JAIIB sets overlap CAIIB more than the paper names suggest. Credit appraisal, risk classification and regulatory detail appear in all three, so working through those papers now is not wasted preparation.
